Rental terms

These are the terms of a Novo stay. They apply when you send a request.

Who contracts

These terms apply to every stay requested from Novo through this website. The contract is between you and Novo.

When the contract is made

A request is not a booking. The contract is made when Novo confirms the dates by email. For a stay on fixed dates there is no statutory right of withdrawal, under § 312g (2) no. 9 of the German Civil Code.

The price

The price is the nightly rate multiplied by the nights, plus the cleaning fee shown on the house. A local visitor tax is charged only if that house lists one, and only if you stay. Novo does not charge VAT. Invoices are issued under § 19 UStG.

Payment

After confirmation Novo sends an invoice by email. You pay Novo by the date on the invoice. Nothing is paid on this website. If the invoice is not paid when due, Novo may release the dates.

Cancellation

Cancel by email. The day Novo receives the email is the cancellation date. More than 30 days before arrival, there is no charge. From 15 to 30 days before arrival, 50% of the nightly total is due. From 14 days before arrival, or if you do not arrive, 90% of the nightly total is due. The cleaning fee is charged only if the house was already prepared. A local visitor tax is not charged if you do not stay. If Novo lets the same dates again, you pay only the amount that was not recovered.

If Novo cancels

If Novo cannot provide the house, you owe nothing for those dates. Any amount already paid is returned.

The stay

No more people than the house allows. A party is allowed only outside the legal quiet hours. Smoking is allowed only on a balcony or terrace, and only if the house has one. A pet only where the house allows it, and only if you named it in the request. Check-in is from 15:00. Check-out is by 10:00. Leave the house ready for the included cleaning.

Damage

You are responsible for damage beyond normal use, for anything missing, and for a lost key. Novo does not take a deposit on this website. After the stay Novo invoices the documented cost of repair or replacement. Ordinary use, linen in normal use, and the cleaning already included in the price are not charged.

Registration

If the law requires a guest registration form, you complete it at the house. Novo keeps that form for one year and then destroys it.

Liability

Novo is liable for injury to life, body or health, and for other damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. Further liability is limited to a foreseeable breach of an essential duty. This does not limit a liability the law does not allow to be limited.

Which law applies

German law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.

Disputes

Novo is not willing, and not obliged, to take part in a dispute before a consumer arbitration board.
